What actually makes a draw fast

It's not your hands. It's the path.

With a standard IWB holster, the gun has to travel straight up the full length of the shell before it can rotate toward the target. That's the long part of every draw.

Now put yourself in the car with a seatbelt on, in a chair at a restaurant, or on your back. The straight-up path gets longer, or it gets blocked entirely. That's why so many carriers spend months practicing to smooth out a draw that the holster made awkward in the first place.

The front is open. Can the gun fall out?

No open door here. The Tri-Lock retention system locks onto your gun's trigger guard, ejection port and rail, and the trigger guard is fully covered. Your firearm audibly clicks into place.

Instead of bulky retention screws, nuts and grommets, we use a sleek steel-riveted retention system set to a medium draw level: plenty of retention for physical activity, still a smooth draw when you need it.

One of our customers fell down 13 stairs with the Breakout 2.0 on and the gun holstered. Both stayed in place.

Do I need special training to use the Breakout draw?

No. It draws straight up like any IWB holster from day one. The forward and crank-back draws are extra options. Practice them at your own pace with an unloaded gun.

What carry position works best?

You can wear it anywhere from 10 o'clock (opposite-side appendix) to 5 o'clock, just before the center of your back. The Breakout draw performs best in appendix.

Can I adjust the retention? Will it loosen over time?

The retention is fixed, and it changes very little over time. A medium draw stays a medium draw for years. If you want it lighter or heavier, we'll walk you through the simple heat-adjustment process. With nearly a decade of expertise, we've tuned the default for most carriers right out of the box.

Is it compatible with red dots, night sights and optics?

Yes. It's compatible with red dots, night sights and top-mounted optics.

What belt size does it work with?

Up to a 1.5" gun belt (1.5" recommended for best use).

Lights, lasers, threaded barrels, gas pedals?

It's non-light-bearing only for now, works with flush-fitting barrels only, and doesn't fit gas-pedal attachments.

What color is it offered in?

At the moment, the Breakout 2.0 is exclusively offered in Flat Black.
